ABOUT US

We are BS15 CIC is a fast-growing community organisation based in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire. We provide a wide range of projects and services that support the health, wellbeing and resilience of our local community.

In 2025, we are celebrating our 5th anniversary. Over that time, we have grown rapidly and now support over 500 people each week through initiatives including our Food Club, pay-as-you-can café, community kitchen, cooking sessions, gardening and wellbeing activities, and support for older people.

We are currently one of the fastest growing VCSE organisations across BNSSG. As we continue to expand, we are at a pivotal stage where we need to strengthen and diversify our income streams to ensure long-term sustainability.

Job Purpose

This is a new and exciting role within We are BS15. The Fundraising & Events Lead will play a key role in developing and delivering a sustainable fundraising programme, helping to reduce reliance on short-term local grants and build a more diverse and resilient income base.

The postholder will lead on identifying and securing funding opportunities, developing a fundraising strategy, and delivering engaging fundraising activities and events. They will also play an important role in telling the story of our work and impact, helping to inspire support from funders, partners and the wider community.

This role would suit an experienced fundraiser who is confident working independently and is motivated by the opportunity to shape and grow a fundraising function within a small but ambitious organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Development

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy aligned with organisational priorities
  • Identify and develop a range of income streams, including trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, and individual giving
  • Support the organisation to build unrestricted income and longer-term financial sustainability
  • Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities and ensure a planned, proactive approach to fundraising

Bid Writing & Grant Fundraising

  • Research and identify relevant local, regional and national funding opportunities
  • Write and submit high-quality funding applications and bids
  • Work closely with the team to gather information, outcomes and impact data to support applications
  • Manage application deadlines and maintain accurate records of submissions

Funder Relationships & Reporting

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with funders and partners
  • Lead on grant reporting, ensuring timely and high-quality submission of monitoring and evaluation reports
  • Gather and present impact data, case studies and outcomes to demonstrate the difference our work makes

Community & Digital Fundraising

  • Explore and develop online fundraising platforms such as Localgiving, Easyfundraising, Aviva, and other digital tools
  • Support the development of individual giving, including regular donation schemes
  • Work with the team to create engaging content that promotes fundraising campaigns and encourages donations
  • Tell the story of We are BS15 through a range of channels, including social media

Events & Campaigns

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver a programme of fundraising events throughout the year
  • Support community-led fundraising initiatives and campaigns
  • Promote fundraising activities to maximise participation and income generation

Corporate & Partnership Fundraising

  • Identify and develop opportunities for corporate support, including donations, sponsorship and partnerships
  • Build relationships with local businesses and wider partners
  • Explore opportunities for employee fundraising, volunteering and match funding

Monitoring, Systems & Administration

  • Develop and maintain systems to track fundraising activity, income and outcomes
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with relevant policies, including data protection
  • Monitor progress against agreed income targets and report to senior leadership

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience in a fundraising role
  • Demonstrable experience of writing successful funding bids
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to tell compelling stories
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confidence using digital tools and platforms

Desirable

  • Experience developing or implementing a fundraising strategy
  • Experience in corporate or community fundraising
  • Experience organising fundraising events
  • Experience working in a small, growing non-profit
  • Knowledge of the local area

Additional Information

  • This is a flexible, home-based role, but the postholder will be expected to attend occasional events and activities in the BS15 area
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required to support events and community engagement
  • The role is initially funded for 6 months, with the intention to extend subject to funding and organisational need
