Any great, experienced cooks out there looking for a part-time role in a welcoming, fun and busy community cafe, please get in touch!
We've been open for over a year, and we're getting to the point where the kitchen is too busy for volunteers to manager, and we need someone with experience to help in our next phase of growth!
- 16 hours p/w (Fri 8.30-3.30, Sat 8.30-2.30, plus 3 hours usually on a Thursday)
- Potential for hours to increase over the next few months - or to take on an assistant depending on your preference.
- Events to be covered on an ad-hoc basis (afternoon teas mainly).
- We close over Christmas and New Year, and on the Saturday's of Bank Holiday weekends.
- Pay - willing to discuss to get the right person. We always pay above living wage.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the kitchen - if you've got experience front of house that's a bonus too!
You can see our current menu on The Beacon Cafe page. We use great quality, local suppliers including Hanham Common Butchers, Warmley Bakehouse and Chew Valley Dairy.
As part of the work we do, we provide opportunities to volunteers with additional needs, and young people who are doing their Duke of Edinburgh award. Therefore, we are looking for someone who would be comfortable working with a range of people with varying abilities, is patient and supportive.
The Beacon Cafe is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
We are looking for front-of-house and kitchen volunteers on Wednesdays (hoping to open soon), Fridays and Saturdays.
We would love to hear from anyone who would be interested in volunteering in the cafe, whether front of house, in the kitchen, or helping to organise and run social groups or events.
The Kingswood Kitchen currently runs on Thursdays.
Volunteer for the kitchen as a kitchen assistant (no experience needed) or a cook (some experience required).
We need people who can help to prepare meals from 1pm-4:30pm and people who can organise delivery, wash-up and clean from 4pm-7pm.
We will put you through your Food Safety Level 2, Allergen Awareness training and other training relevant to the role.
The Kingswood Kitchen needs help with delivering hot meals to BS15 residents on Thursdays between 4:30pm and 6.30pm.
Usually two or three deliveries per driver per night. We especially need help between 4.30pm and 5.30pm!
Allotment sessions take place on Tuesdays between 10am and 12pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
Activities vary depending on the time of year. We also need extra help with watering and harvesting during the growing season.
We'd love to hear from people of all abilities - from beginners to experts!
The Kingswood Food Club (formerly The Kingswood Fridge) would love to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer in any of the following ways:
- Wednesdays 9pm - 10pm - help to unload volunteers cars and set up the Food Club
- Thursday 10am - 12pm - Soup makers!
- Thursday 11.45pm - 2.30pm - help Food Club members, keep food tables stocked, help with clear down.
We currently collect from over 20 stores every Wednesday and Thursday.
We'd love to hear from drivers who would be willing to take on a regular weekly or fortnightly slot, or ad-hoc drivers who we can call on for holiday cover.
We're very desperate for drivers on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
