The Beacon Café is a welcoming community café in the heart of Hanham, where everyone is invited to enjoy good food, great company and a friendly atmosphere.

We believe cafés should be places where communities come together. That's why The Beacon Café is about much more than food and drink. It's somewhere to make friends, enjoy a chat, find support when you need it and feel part of your local community.
Fresh food, homemade treats and great coffee
We serve breakfasts, light lunches, homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks and daily specials in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Where possible, we use fresh, locally sourced and surplus ingredients, helping reduce food waste while serving delicious food. Our meat is from Hanham Common Butchers and our coffee from Carwardines.
A place to belong
The Beacon Café is home to several of our community activities, including Young at Heart, Eat & Meet and regular drop-in sessions with partner organisations.
Many people first visit for a coffee or lunch but return because of the friendships they've made and the welcoming atmosphere they've found.
Whether you're popping in for five minutes or spending the afternoon with us, you'll always find a friendly face waiting to welcome you.
A Space for the Little Ones
Our children’s play area, located in the Sanctuary, is a welcoming space for babies and toddlers to play while grown-ups relax with a cuppa.
There are plenty of toys to explore and space for little ones to play, giving you the chance to sit back, enjoy something from the café and have a chat while keeping an eye on them.
The play area is free to use whenever The Beacon Café is open, so whether you’re meeting up with other parents or just fancy getting out of the house for a while, you’re very welcome.

Our menu includes suggested prices, but we know that life isn't the same for everyone.
