We are BS15 is a community-led not-for-profit organisation. We aim to Connect the people of BS15, Share food, skills, products and knowledge and, in turn, Grow as a community in our shared resilience and compassion. We want to see an end to loneliness and isolation and for BS15 to become empowered and supported by one another.
We have ambitious plans for the future, with lots of different ideas for community projects including Upcycling, Zero-Waste Shop, Made in BS15 shop, Cooking Classes, Parent and Child Classes and much more!
Currently, we are working on three main projects, We are BS15 Kitchen, The Kingswood Larder, and The Kingswood Allotment.
If you'd like to get involved with any of our current or future projects, have an idea of a project and would like our help to get it off the ground, or have a project that you think we can work together on, please get in touch!
We believe that food feeds our souls as well as our stomachs, and we are dedicated to providing delicious home-cooked meals through our community kitchen.
We offer all meals on a ‘pay-as-you-wish' basis, and BS15 residents can pre-order meals online or by phone.
The Beacon Café is a new community Café in Hanham which operates on a “Pay as you can” donation basis.
Our aim at We are BS15 is to reduce food inequality, food waste and social isolation. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to people accessing fresh, nutritious food or meeting people in their community.
We have a vision on allotments across BS15, providing fruit, veg & salad to the community via the Community Kitchen and Larders.
We have acquired our first allotment plot and are looking for volunteers to help with the Spring planting and regular upkeep!
We have got lots of exciting volunteering opportunities across a range of projects including gardening, cooking, delivering meals, distributing surplus food, marketing, bid writing, administration, call handling, leaflet distribution and much more!
Have a look at our Get Involved page for details of our current opportunities.
We are running an online fundraiser through Just Giving.
Donations are used to fund our current and future projects aimed at benefitting the BS15 Community.
Money raised also allows us to provide free meals to those in the area who are struggling financially.
