The Kingswood Repair Café is a monthly community event where people can bring broken or damaged items and have them checked and repaired by skilled volunteers — helping save useful items from landfill and reducing waste.

We’re delighted to be launching the Repair Café in Kingswood in partnership with Matt from Hanham Repair Café, building on the success of repair cafés locally and responding to clear demand from the community for a similar service closer to home. The launch of the Kingswood Repair Café has been made possible thanks to funding from Electrical Safety First.

How it works

Bring along your broken or faulty items and our volunteer repairers will do their very best to fix them. Items we hope to help with include:

  • Small Electricals
  • Clothing
  • Textiles
  • Toys
  • Bikes
  • Furniture

While we can’t guarantee that every item can be repaired, our volunteers will always take a careful look and explain what’s possible.

Cost & donations

Repairs are free, but donations are very welcome.
If replacement parts are needed, these must be paid for and purchased by the item’s owner.

We rely on donations to keep the Repair Café running — helping cover hall hire, heating, electricity, tools and equipment. If your item is successfully repaired, we kindly encourage a donation in return, but there’s no pressure and everyone is welcome.

A welcoming space

The Repair Café is about more than fixing things. It’s also a friendly, relaxed community space where people can chat, share skills and enjoy a cuppa. Refreshments are available while you wait for your item to be looked at.
