The Beacon Cafe
The Beacon Cafe in Hanham is an inclusive community cafe that operates on a unique "Pay-as-you-can" donation basis. Our mission is to tackle food inequality, reduce waste, and combat social isolation. We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food and the chance to connect with their community, regardless of their financial circumstances. That's why we've created a welcoming space where those who can afford to pay can contribute to something positive, while those facing financial challenges can still enjoy our offerings.
We take pride in supporting ethical and local suppliers. Our Fairtrade 'Crema' coffee beans are roasted in Somerset by Martin Carwardine & Co. For team lovers, we serve Clipper, the UK's number one Fairtrade tea company. Our baked goods are sourced from the talented bakers at Warmley Bakehouse, and our excellent quality meat is provided by Hanham Common Butchers. The milk we use is sourced from Chew Valley Dairy, an organic farm nestled in the beautiful Mendip Hill. We also cater to our vegan friends with a range of delicious vegan cheese, spreads and dishes.
Check out our menu below - we also have a number of specials on each week.
And let's not forget our mouthwatering homemade cakes, made with love and carefully selected ingredients!
We're more than just a cafe. We're a thriving community that is constantly growing. That's why we're developing exciting volunteer and community group programmes. We're passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and make a difference. We want the Beacon Cafe to be a place where you can meet new friends, discover new skills, and be part of something truly meaningful. We're always open to ideas, suggestions, and enthusiastic volunteers. If you're interested in getting involved, drop us an email at thebeacon@wearebs15.co.uk
