Our Values
Our History
In March 2020, when the country went into national lockdown, the BS15 community responded with a massive effort to support each other. Over four hundred volunteers registered to help, we have taken over 2,500 calls on the hotline and completed over 1,500 errands. We have raised over £8,000 for the Kingswood foodbank, and as a community, we have donated over 20 tonnes of food.
How we began
We are BS15 was founded by Vicky Robinson and Rev. Beverley Charles in February 2021. At the start of the pandemic outbreak in 2020, Vicky and Beverley, along with others, set up and ran the Covid-19 BS15 support groups. It wasn’t long before over 400 volunteers had signed up to help.
The group aimed to help BS15 residents with their shopping, delivering food parcels and collecting prescriptions but it quickly evolved. The team soon realised that there was a need for much more support beyond Covid and the wealth of community spirit meant that there were plenty of people eager to help.
